Boston- Longtime Democratic Congressman
John Tierney's persistent ethical issues today landed him on a national watchdog
group's list of 2013′s Most Corrupt Members of Congress. Citizens for
Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, or CREW, gave Rep.Tierney a
Dishonorable Mention and took him to task for his failure to report thousands of
dollars tied to his wife's involvement in an illegal gambling operation.

WASHINGTON: Rep. Tierney’s tax returns and personal financial
disclosure forms have a big hole — thousands of dollars in payments his wife
received tied to her brother's illegal gambling
operation.
Rep. Tierney’s wife, Patrice Tierney, received over
$200,000 from an account she managed for her brother, who was charged with
running an illegal gambling business in Antigua. Rep. Tierney may have violated
federal law and House rules by leaving the income off his tax returns and
financial disclosure forms.
